Throughout The Years
Ron Rossi Remodeling has been in business for over 22 years. I have been involved in doing construction/remodeling work since I was 10 years old, working with my father who was a builder and construction supervisor for the former company, Kelly and Picerne (K+P). In these early years I learned the trade from him by accompanying, helping, and watching him on the various side jobs he would do in his spare time. I started as a laborer for K+P at the age of 18. I used this employment to help put me through Providence College working on Saturdays, college vacations, and summers. After working for K+P for 2 years I started to work for other sub-contractors doing work for K+P. I worked for a concrete floor contractor, a drywall installer, and framing/finish carpentry contractors.
I became a Science teacher upon graduating from Providence College but continued to work for these carpentry contractors again on Saturdays, school vacations, and summers. I became interested in Energy issues in the mid 1970's because of the Energy Crises. For my Master's Degree from the University of Rhode I researched and created an Energy Curriculum for Junior High School students. From the knowledge that I gained from researching this project and my love of construction I became interested in how Energy issues affected the average home and homeowner (and still do today). I became interested in Solar Energy and Energy Conservation. My Dad and I started a Solar Installation business for domestic hot water systems. The system that we installed on his home (now my home) in 1981 is still operating today with very minor yearly maintenance. (See the Solar Installation link pictures in this web-site). It has more than paid for itself and saved thousands of dollars in oil bills these past 26 years. I passed the State of Rhode Island Solar Installers exam, and I also passed the State of Rhode Island exam to be certified as an Energy Auditor.
In 1983 I started construction on my own home. My Dad and I worked together on this project and I also worked with the framing crew part time while also teaching school. Needless to say it was a busy year! I also did finish work in that home. After completing this home I continued to do work on my own for other people. Hence in 1985 Ron Rossi Remodeling was created. It has been a pleasurable experience thus far attempting to meet people's needs by providing them the same quality renovations that I would expect for my own home!
Today
I retired from my teaching career after 32 years in 2004. I have continued to do remodeling and new construction full time since then. It is a relaxing and enjoyable change from the classroom.
Vision
With the current prices of non-renewable energy products and economic conditions I hope to be able to provide my clients with the most affordable, environmentally conscious, and price competitive home renovations and construction practices that will reap for them rewards with respect to their return on investment! The quality of my workmanship remains my ultimate goal on any project!
